RSS FeedGreat timing for me to get my camera! The lantern festival was this weekend so I went along with some friends to get some photos. These are my first ever photos with this camera, so bear with me. Still learning!

Just picked this up today, probably the best hangover cure. So excited, can’t wait for my lenses to arrive so I can get snapping! 
I went along to the 2nd drawing night at Fracture, I tried to sketch the room, everything kept getting moved, haha. Can’t draw faces very well. Need to improve! 9,998 hours to go.
Yes, I am a on a bit of a bender sketching animals at the moment. Haha. here’s a quick one.
Just drew up this elephant for a little girl my friend looks after. Hope she likes it!
This one will be slow progress, I’ve only got time to work on this one during my lunchbreak on my day job. Night times have got me pretty busy with another hush-hush project – not personal work though. Anyway, here’s a quick snap of what I’ve done. Tattoos are sketched on. I’m having a heap of trouble deciding what to do with this. Should I colour it? or keep it all pencil shading. Hmmm. What do you think?

This video is so cool. It’s pretty sad though – just a caution if you don’t want to look like you’re about to cry in front of your mates haha. Wonderful shots throughout and the quality of the video is rad. Great story and insight into the relationship with man’s best friend.

So, doin a commission for a friend of mine. Didn’t really know what I was gonna do, so I just let my mind wander and put my pencil onto paper. Started drawing this weird frog guy and his little friend / pet. I hope it turns out good.

Finally finished this gig poster! Sore hands from colouring. Decided to go for a watered down desaturated colour scheme. Pink type is kinda crazy out there, but green and brown was getting lost in the background. Hmmm.
Now the long arduous road of colouring begins :-/ Not sure what kind of colour scheme to use yet. Hopefully it will dawn on me soon!

I’m going to try see my friends more, and also get off my backside and do more personal work. Who knows we can stick to resolutions but it’s a nice thought to try and become a better person every year.

So started a new piece tonight.. Hardly draw people, so thought I would give it a crack. So here we are. First sketch, and more to come. I may end up leaving it a pencil drawing, and colouring the background. Would that look weird? Doesn’t in my head. Thoughts?

Here’s a new one. No in progress shots unfortunately, it was a bit of a spur of the moment drawing. I can’t stop drawing wood textures at the moment, so you will probably see more trees popping up in drawings to come haha. I might colour this some time. water colour perhaps?
New Drawing! I’m sick of drawing scales. Turned out okay, not sure if it needs more or not. I’ll leave it as is for now.
Here is the rough thumbnail sketch I did before hand. I left the crane out. Not sure why but I guess it was kinda random in there.
Just finished this sketch yesterday evening, pretty happy with how it turned out. But now the question of ‘To colour or not to colour?’ has arrived.
